Latest Updates from Our Project:

Woooo hoooo! Now We’re Cookin’ with Gas (Spores)!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, May 05, 2023 at 08:00:25 AM

Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop a quick update for May and let you guys know that DUNGEON MALARKY is in layout and so far everything is looking extra crispy. Tony Avina is doing a bang up job and this zine has its own unique feel, separate from our previous offerings.

I really love the content in this zine and I hope you guys will too. As always, this thing is jam packed full and we leave no space wasted.

Check out some art from the interior!

Thanks for backing this weird little project. You guys rule!

Fresh Back from GaryCon... with an Update!
about 3 years ago – Thu, Mar 30, 2023 at 08:52:39 AM

Hello everyone!

I'm fresh back from GaryCon and I wanted to drop a quick update on the project before March slips away from us.

  • The text for Dungeon Malarky has been handed over to our editor and she is cookin' away on that, making all of the subtle little changes and alterations that go a long way towards making me sound like I know what I'm doing.
  • All of the art for the project is turned in and looking good. We're really proud of how this came out. Adrian Landeros and JE Shields absolutely killed it on the art.
  • Once we get the text back from the editor we'll hand this off to our graphic designer and they'll move us on to the next stage.

Look for an update soon as we move forward to the next stage. Thanks again for backing everyone - you guys raaaaaawk.

A Heartfelt Thanks... and What's Next!
about 3 years ago – Sun, Feb 26, 2023 at 08:46:44 AM

Hello everyone!

My post-funding backer update is a few days late thanks to the awesome time I had running and playing games at TotalCon in Marlborough, MA this week, but as the weekend winds down its time for that update!

Thanks to you guys, Dungeon Malarky was a success! A huge thank you to everyone who backed this weird little project, shared it on social media, retweeted, re-posted and generally got the word out. Without you guys and your continued, collective patronage, their would be no Planet X Games. My sincerest thanks to all of you - you are very appreciated.

So what's next for Dungeon Malarky and what does that mean for you guys? The primary writing and art are finished, though as the project grew in backers, I continued to add new pages of material and to commission new interior art for the book. So as that rolls on in, I will continue to update you guys as its on its way to layout and final graphic design.

Keep your eyes peeled here! Until then, here's a few pieces of interior art from the zine to whet your whistles for what's to come.

Thank you all again!

-Levi

Our First 48 Hours Are in the Books... and You Guys Really Brought the Heat!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 03, 2023 at 07:02:43 AM

Hello everyone!

Well, Dungeon Malarky is live and you guys really came through. I want to thank you ALL for the huge support you have showed this weird lil' project. When I was first tossing ideas about this around with Tony, I wasn't sure this was gonna be the kind of project that people would necessarily "get" but it turns out I was wrong. When in doubt, always go with the genuine approach of making stuff you would like to see at the game table yourself.

So THANK YOU to everyone who has pledged, shared the project across social media, told their friends and retweeted. Planet X Games really wouldn't exist without all of you guys supporting these weird RPG zines and books, so you truly have my gratitude.

Zinequest is a crazy ride for both small indie publishers and fans of RPGs, and especialy so in the wake of all the craziness over the OGL this past month. Having said that, here's a few Kickstarters from small independent publishers that are either live right now or coming up shortly that I'm personally looking forward to. They're definitely worth checking out:

SUNSET LIMITED from 321... Action Games

ROBOWORLD & SPACE STATION M - RPG MONSTER MANUAL ZINES from Bloat Games

ELFLAND: BEYOND THE FIELDS WE KNOW from Stefan Surratt

SKY OV CRIMSON FLAME + BLIGHTS OV EASTERN FOREST from Thorin Thompson

VAST GRIMM: INTO OBLIVION from Brian Colin/Infinite Black

So, once again, thank you for supporting indie RPGs and Planet X Games. You guys absolutely rock!
